Lipitor (atorvastatin) for High Cholesterol: My cholesterol is normally 313 and is a hereditary problem. Several of my siblings take these drugs as well. Lipitor keeps my level at the 168 range. I have taken these drugs for 23 years and Lipitor for the past 10 years and it is the most effective with no side effects. 9 user(s) found this comment helpful. Did you?
